Risen Christ Choir

Angelic voices from the choir floated down over the heads of the congregation.
Before mass start, organist played Bach Chorales, this had a cathedral feel. Definitely made me feel that I have entered Church and put me in a reverent mood for mass to begin.
Kyrie was cantored.....a male Josh Groben soundalike, cantored over a mic from somewhere above our heads. Choir led the congregation into the response. Ditto Cristie eleison and kyrie eleison.
Don't know what mass ordinaries they were using, but it was slow and meditative. They also had a Sarah Brightman soundalike cantoring in the hymns over the mic.
ALL the hymns were sung with pipe organ accompaniment. Really fantastic!
The choir did not always sing in parts, they sang mostly in unison. This was good because it made the congregation participate.
Even the more modern hymns like "we remember" and "You are mine" was sung reverently with the pipe organ.
I really liked the effect.
Then again, it could be the acoustics, which was definitely much better than SVDP.
Turned out Fr. Valerian was ex-student of Fr. C, and so was the organist that played at mass. I got a chance to speak to Fr. V after mass. Fr. V was quite excited to finally meet the organist from SVDP that Fr. C spoke about.
Small world....
