lessons from this year's combine choir

We loved it! Not to say, we also hated it while in the process of doing.

A fresh way of doing combine choir.
New management...ala SCC.
New hymns....I know my redeemer lives....lalalala....that tune just keeps replaying in my head.
New music team....S and S and B and J.....one day I just sms choirs and ask which organist or instrumentalist was around. And people's perception was that my ego would clash with mini-egos that failed to measure up. Well....thing is, if mini-egos measure up....and they know whether they did or not...no need to be explicit about that.....my ego was fine with it. I've long learnt to control when to open BIG MOUTH.... Plus, big egos working with other big egos....ehem, musicians just must have big egos....how to work? So moral of the story is to have just one big ego on duty.
New music...thanks to cow mommy...who made a trip to that certain Spring in town and bought some new new music. I think she spent a few hundred dollars. But it paid off in dividends that was beyond dollars and cents.
New Cantors.....
The singing was GREAT. Unfortunately, the mics were NOT!!!!!!
grrrrrrr!!!!!
Moral of the story.....MUST have a sound check with real mics ON!

Another easter celebration down.
I think this is our big project for the year.
I hear that we will not be co-ordinating feast day....phew.
Now we can rest.
