Thoughts on the Body of Christ applied through the choir ministry

'Don't listen to your God'.....
Yes those were the very words spoken to me by a good friend a year or 2 ago. So I am not surprised at variations of that theme going around.

So SCC is sloted to sing on NY eve thanksgiving mass.....
I don't like people to decide, and then impose or designate that decision to me.

A consultative approach rather than a top-down approach....

Consultative approach is:
1. Is there an organist available.
2. How many members can make it.
3. Ok organist and choir makes that commitment
4. Then we get rostered

A Top-down approach....
1. Big BOSS says, 'Do THIS...'
2. 'Yes MASTER' is the only appropriate reply.

Am I needed for tonight's practise....

When I was at the U, we had ensembles where we accompany, or play in trios or in orchestra. We are given our parts, we are given our scores. Nobody is going to teach you your parts....your task is to go and learn it yourself. Nobody is going to hound you about how much you practise, as long as you show up and you know what you are doing. Accountability is when I do my own practise, I show up at rehearsals, then I go back and work on my part before the next time that we put it together. Even when I hear that the violin or cello is out of tune or out of sync, I point it out....but it is up to the violin to fix what the violin has to fix....I cannot fix the violin for the violin.

'Do you need me for tonight's practise'?
I do not need individuals. I need the UNIT.

Is the voicing fixed?
It was fixed until it all got unfixed few days ago. Then the flute and triagle part was fixed, until it got unfixed a while ago.
