Final Practise Combined Choir for Feast Day

I always am of the view that if you do not walk the talk, then shut up!
So, I will just put up items that we can improve on in future.

1. POOR HANDLING of logistics
Different choirs had different scores. Different leaders were scrambling to teach their parts in the midst of combine choir sessions. This led to a lot of waiting, a lot of wasted time, probably a strain on people's patience.
So kay kiang....fine if it is a one choir show. But if it is a combine choir....then must sing combine choir version.

Suggested solution:
If SCC undertakes to oversee the running and logistics, then ALL the SECTION LEADERS should come from SCC.
All section leaders should be briefed in person what parts to teach.
All section leaders are to oversee that every member regardless of which choir they originate from are reading from the SAME music score.

Scc did not have enough section leaders.
Perhaps we are already grateful enough that people from other choirs who can read music have stepped in to offer their help. So we are very much to blame for our member's APATHY. There was no support from all of SCC's youths. All the young people were from the other choirs. So we really cannot blame the section leaders. Well now we know that they are VERY IMPORTANT.

2. The Singing
Every entry of 'Glory to God in the Highest.....' was weak.
I don't know.....is it conductor's failure to bring people in on cue? That plays a BIG role.
Could also be people's attitude to conductor. Don't think the choir really listened.
Just saying down here louder, down there louder.....was not very effective. Don't think anybody cared.

If Big J conduct, it is going to be different from Jon, which is going to be different from C....and the list goes on.

Solution: We should at least run through parts of the mass ordinaries...the starting parts when the REAL conductor comes back.

3. Some people work at their OPTIMUM at the VERY LAST MINUTE.....which puts a lot of stress for people that NEED TO BE READY like an entire week before.
And here I am talking about the Responsorial Psalm.
I suppose that is why God give some people very good sight reading skills so that they can play anything that is put before them like INSTANTLY!
Then again, next time if this is the scenerio again......I think I'd better do the COMPOSING. It will be READY an ENTIRE MONTH AHEAD!!!!! With lots of time put in for revisions and improvements.
