Criticisms, constructive or otherwise, and comments....
This year, not too long ago, I attended my alumni gathering...
And I asked MP of Seletar hills, who was also alumni, "er...Mr. MP, what are you going to do about the Seletar Market?"
MP replied, "Have you thought of helping in the resident grassroot committee?"
That made me think VERY hard about opening my mouth next.
Moral of the story....
Backseat drivers galore! But opening mouth is easy, why don't you do the driving instead?

The Old Rugged Cross
This is a beautiful hymn. Much much more meaningful that 'love crucified arose'.
But then to compare them both is like comparing apples with oranges. There is no basis for comparison. Sung with the pipe organ, this is fitting to the Lent/Good Friday liturgy.
Regina Coeli
Another classic piece. Personally, I love classic pieces. They are timeless and musically sound compositions.
Anyway, we must always bear in mind the mission in which why SCC sings week after week.
Bottomline is, we do not sing to please the priest.
We sing to worship GOD.

Then again, we need to appreciate FEEDBACKS and COMMENTS.
Because, when we get DEFENSIVE, then the comments be it good or bad stop coming. Then we never grow, because people don't tell us anymore. They only say nice things to make us happy.
And that is NOT good.
So, moral of the story....
Comments are good. For comments to be even better, they need to be constructive.
1. Tell us what was good....that part we keep.
2. Tell us what was not good eg. Father not happy with this & that...be specific.
3. How to fix it...suggest ways, methods, alternatives
4. Walk the talk....don't like the music? Come up and offer to play it differently. Don't like the piece? Offer your services to plan the pieces week after week. Don't like the way choir sings it? Offer your service to train the choir.
5. If you cannot do any of the above.....do what I did in the above annecdote.
