Humbly We Come

The stomache growled furiously and the cramps came with greater frequency as mass started. One hour did not seem that long.
Yet for an upset stomach, even 15 mins to the end of mass was too long a wait.
Well in 15 years, this is the 2nd time it has happened...ie, having to run to the loo in the middle of mass.
Well, unless you sat at the back, you would hardly have noticed the minor hiccup that went on between offertory and the Lord's Prayer.
Thanks to Little J that took over!

hmmm.....I just wonder if he had any Emmaus revelation during this time?
ie, God does speak in a whisper you know.

So today marks the beginning of LENT.
40 days of fasting, prayers, almsgiving and a preparation for Easter.

Having a SPIRITUAL perspective changes at how we view LIFE.
Every aspect of Life.
....work, family, relationships, friendships, even tasks like cleaning house and eating.
Eg. eating.
In the secular sense, eating is just that, eating.
In a spiritual sense, eating must be more than eating.
You can do an entire retreat contemplating on the food you eat...who planted the rice, the conditions for the rice to grow, the entire process of love that went into cooking rice, energy and carbo from rice, death if there is not rice......and the eventual product is a greater AWARENESS and THANKSGIVING for rice.

Nope I did not come up with this retreat idea, I heard it from Fr. WG.

And then to transfer the analogy onto LENT....
