Big J said to me and cow's mom that little cow sang the resp ps very well.
I wish ALL cantors were as well prepared as little cow.
I mean, then it is sooooooo easy to put in organ parts to the singing and then all the harmony blend perfectly.

Hmmm....
must remember that the next time I get to play organ by myself to find a bach piece to finish off mass.
Haven't played those fugues for a long time.

Speaking of fugues....
Little J should be encouraged to pick up the pipes. He would love it.
Last time I gave his contact to Fr. C, he said he had to study for 'O' levels when Fr. C called him.
Oh well...

Sometimes I wish people realise that instrumentalists do not sound good just out of thin air. Training is important. Good technique is important.

Hmmm....
Well I play pop songs at my yamaha lessons and from there I learn voicings, rhythms, accompaniments, programming etc. Then you play hymns and you just apply all that knowledge.
Same with the pipes.
I learn BACH each time I meet Fr. C. Then if your legs can coordinate bach, then your legs can coordinate anything.

The magic of mass....
The general consensus was that we sounded bad at practise, but we sounded good at mass. How come?

Well generally that goes hand in hand with the concept of practise. I don't expect myself to sound good right away when I practise. I expect myself to sound good AFTER practise though.

PLUS...
Because it is mass, our whole BEING worships when we sing.
So that puts Music at a whole diffent plane altogether.
