Good News Reflection...
by Terry Modica

The legacy that Jesus left behind -- his gift to us, which he explained intoday's Gospel passage -- is peace. True and lasting peace. A peace that calmstroubled hearts. A peace that drives away our fears. A peace that is heaven onearth.

If we accept this gift of peace, we have to trust God no matter what's going onaround us. We cannot trust our own interpretation of what's best for us and howour problems should be solved. We have to trust in God's wisdom andnever-ending love. But we turn away from the gift if we take our eyes off ofJesus. Remaining in constant communication with him will keep us securely inhis peaceful embrace.

Failure to trust God results in fear and troubled hearts, because fear alwayslies to us. Remember it this way: F.E.A.R. = False Evidence Appearing Real. Toregain the peace that Jesus has given you, first identify the lies that yourfears have been saying. Then ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you what thetruth is. Listen carefully. If you need help discerning his voice, talk to aspiritual director or a prayerful Christian friend. Once it becomes audible, trust in that truth. And act upon it.

ps. Actually I was trying to tell Little J something to the effect of this.
"Help help! I am sinking!" Peter frantically called out to Jesus when he started doubting that he had the ability to walk on water. That is because, the moment he focused on his own ability, he forgot that it was the power of Jesus that made him do the impossible. He took his eyes of Jesus.
Of course he started to sink the minute he thinks that he is going to sink!
hmmmmmm.......

Angels....
Well there are angels (divine beings created by God) and there are angels (messengers sent by God in the form of people that we meet every single day).
Try it.....
be aware of how many angels you meet in a single day.
