headless chicken dance

So 4:30pm sharp, we started prayers.
There were maybe 2 and a half pews full of people?
Key people were not around.

Only oz and silliwilli....
both have no idea where everybody was.
Where is C the conductor??
Later Big J later said C said she not coming last night!!!
Now I vaguely remember cow mummy informing that she'll be late.
Big J not around??? he came at 5pm!!! Yes...I looked at my watch.

We did our warm-ups.
Silliwilli had to go up to conduct.
Little J had to step in to help.

Sorry if oz was like the wicked witch!!!
Or a drill sargeant.
Actually it felt more like oz executing a headless chicken dance!

I really liked the IDEA of Majesty.
Pity the actual rendition was messy somewhat.
Brain not focussed yet.
If I could do it again, I wouldn't use so much brass and timpanni....very hard to control.
Will switch to strings in the middle.

The singers were very co-orperative.
I think that was key to expressive singing.
Good job.
If we could improve on one thing as a choir...that will be diction.

Now who is holding on to the/my cantor book? Last time I know it was cow mummyyyyyy!!!!

I know the youths like the jazzy upbeat version.
heh...fuddy duddy like moi actually prefer the gregorian chant.
I think psalms are most effectively proclaimed using chants.....it was meant liturgically that way.

Those jazzy rhythms really misses the point to PROCLAMATION.

One lady from the congregation liked the rehearsal!!
